Besheer Art Tile has created a series of tiles for the Museum of Fine Arts Boston that is inspired by images from a book in their collection: Plants and their Application to Ornament, published in London in 1897 by Eugene Samuel Grasset, has unique floral designs, each one based on a specific flower. These tiles are hand made in New Hampshire. The ceramic tile, which is heat resistant, can be used as a trivet or hotplate, as well as hung for wall decor. 6" x 6", Cork backed. Wipe clean.

Mount Washington Resort is located in Bretton Woods, NH, at the base of the magnificent 6,288-foot Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, and is surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest. It is the consummate four-season New England Resort. The Hotel, a grand masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture, built in 1902, is the Resort’s stunning centerpiece. The grand Hotel is a registered National Historic Landmark, and was the site of the 1944 Bretton Woods International Monetary Conference.

Hand Painted Panda Tile Made Expressly for the National Zoo by Besheer Art Tile......A newborn giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) weighs between three to five ounces at birth or about 1/900 of its mother’s weight. At six weeks old, it weighs almost ten times its birth weight with a thick coat of black-and-white fur covering its body. When a young panda reaches two years of age, will be 150 to 250 pounds and up to five feet in length. Learn more about this critically endangered species at www.nationalzoo.si.edu.

This Hand Painted Besheer Art Tile was inspired by the Labyrinth in the Chancel of the Riverside Church, which was adapted from the Labyrinth at the Chartres Cathedral in France, one of the few such ancient designs in existence. The journey on the Labyrinth is a walking meditation based on the circle, the universal symbol for unity and wholeness. Labyrinths are a part of many religious traditions, serving as metaphors for the spiritual journey, the path of life. The Kabbalah, the Tree of Life from the Jewish tradition, is a labyrinth—as is the Hopi Medicine Wheel and the Buddhist Mandala.
The Labyrinth in the Chancel of the Riverside Church, NYC
This Hand Painted Tile was adapted from a bell in the Laura Spelman Rockefeller Memorial Carillon at The Riverside Church, which was a gift of the late John D. Rockefeller, Jr., in memory of his mother. It contains 74 bronze bells ranging in weight from the largest 20 ton Bourdon,to the smallest treble bell of 10 pounds. The Bourdon is the largest tuned bell ever cast, making the Riverside Carillon the heaviest in the world. In 2004, Olympic Carillons Inc., completely restored the Carillon, including 58 new bells from the Whitechapel Foundry of London. The Carillon rises 392 feet above the street, and is equipped with observation platforms for a 360-degree view of New York City and the Hudson Valley.

Because of the intense nature of working with glass enamels, to develop and produce custom tiles requires a 200 piece minimum order per design, along with some necessary art and development fees. Specific graphic art is also required. If further interested, please email us for more details.

Hand Painted Panda Tiles Made Expressly for the National Zoo by Besheer Art Tile....Giant Pandas are struggling to survive in the wild. Scientists at the Smithsonian's National Zoo are studying the Zoo's panda pair. Mei Xiang and Tian Tian, to learn more about this critically endangered species. Friends of the National is dedicated to supporting the National Zoo in a joint mission to celebrate, study and protect the diversity of animals and their habitats.
