The Cornflower , also known as The “Bachelor’s Button”, is an annual flowering plant. In the past, it commonly grew wild in cornfields, thereby it’s name “The Cornflower”. It is now grown as an ornamental flower in cultivated gardens.
In folklore, cornflowers were worn by young men in love. It was the favorite flower of President John F. Kennedy and was worn by his son, John F. Kennedy, Jr., at his wedding in tribute to his father.
